Okay, I admit it, I can be a bit of a freak for high school stories. As I sit here typing this, I’m watching Mean Girls (review coming later) and I switched to this from Buffy, The Vampire Slayer (movie version…review also coming soon). Soooo, back to the subject at hand. This is one of those guilty pleasures that I adore. The acting is okay, but the redemption of the hero, played by Freddy Prinze Jr, is great, as is the “emergence” of the heroine. I especially liked the fact that the heroine Laney wasn’t just superficially made over, but rather she realized her strengths and weaknesses as she evolved. This is one of those teen movies that makes an impression (at least for me) that lasts long after the last frame is reeled.

I ADORE high school movies. I loved when my daughter got into them cause it made sitting through them without excuses possible.
Snort.
Like I meant that. We own a LOT of these kind of movies. I call them feel good movies because they don’t make you think. You just relax and stay amused.
I think that’s it for me…no massive thinking, just pure fun. I’ll be reviewing several of my fave guilty pleasures over the next few weeks, and I’ll betcha they’re the same for both of us *g*
