A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation.  Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike.  Anger is his only companion and terror his only passion-until he rescues a beautiful female from the evil Lessening Society.  Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses.  But even as their desire for each other begins to overtake them, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentor drives him to the brink of madness.  Now Bella must help her lover overcome the sounds of his tortured past and find a future with her…

The third in the Brotherhood saga, this is more of a continuation of Lover Eternal, but focuses on Zsadist and Bella.  You could read it without reading the first two, but I wouldn’t recommend it, since the intricacies of the Brotherhood and the Lessening Society are built upon significantly in this book.  Zsadist is the quintessential tortured hero, with issues not only about himself, but his twin Phury as well.  I truly enjoyed this book and tore through it in one sitting, but it is more of a transition book, giving us the next stage of the war between the Brotherhood and the Lessening Society.  That said, it’s an awesome read, but as noted above, more enjoyable if you understand the worldbuilding set down in the first two books.  Now I’m off to read the fourth, which is Butch and Marissa’s story…
