The universe isn’t what it used to be.  With the new Alliance between the Triad and the United Coalition, Captain Tasha “Sass” Sebastian finds herself serving under her former nemesis, biocybe Admiral Branden Kel-Paten-and doing her best to hide a deadly past.  But when an injured mercenary winds up in their ship’s sick bay-and in the hands of her best friend, Dr. Eden Fynn-Sass’s efforts may be wasted.  Wanted rebel Jace Serafino has information that could expose all of Sass’s secrets, tear the fragile Alliance apart-and end Sass’s career if Kel-Paten discovers them.  But the biocybe has something to hide as well, something once thought impossible for his kind to possess:  feelings…for Sass.  Soon it’s clear that their prisoner could bring down everything they once believed was worth dying for-and everything they now have to live for.

You know how sometimes you read a book and you just DON’T want it to end?  Well, that was me with this book.  I swear, I read the ending chapter at least five times, just sighing each time.  It was freakin’ perfect!  Not just the end, but the whole damn book.  I’ve always loved Linnea’s work, from waaaaay back in the day when she was pubbed exclusively in “e”, and if anything, her writing has gotten stronger!  Sass is the perfect heroine…strong yet vulnerable in ways she doesn’t let anyone but her best friend Eden see.  And Branden…gads…how Linnea managed to make a bio-cybe sexy as hell is beyond me, but she did it, and in spades.  These two are combustible as hell, and the way Branden yearns for Sass.  Again…sigh.  Eden and Jace were nice counterparts to the two main characters, but when push comes to shove, it’s Branden and Sass I want to see in HEA.  If you haven’t read any of Sinclair’s books (Gabriel’s Ghost, etc), then you’re missing out, big time!  Go out and grab any one of them (but especially this one) and get ready to be rocked!
