She has tempted many men… but never found her equal. Until now.  Though she has lived for centuries, Anya, goddess of anarchy, has never known pleasure. Until Lucien, the incarnation of death—a warrior eternally doomed to take souls to the hereafter. He draws her like no other. And Anya will risk anything to have him. But when the merciless Lord of the Underworld is ordered by the gods to claim Anya herself, their uncontrollable attraction becomes an anguished pursuit. Now they must defeat the unconquerable forces that control them, before their thirst for one another demands a sacrifice of love beyond imagining…

A fantastic addition to Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series.  Anya, in a delicious turn as the Goddess of Anarchy, was simply superb as a character.  She acted true to character in each encounter, and her curse made you root for her all the more.  Lucien’s suffering was palpable, and as a hero he was wonderful.  These two fought (literally) in some awesome battle scenes, but you know it’s all leading up to their coming together (yes, that was an intentional pun).  I wondered how Gena would bring these two together, when everything (including the gods) was pitted against them, and she did it beautifully, in a way I never anticipated, that brought tears to my eyes.  Seriously.  Grab this one while you still can. I can’t WAIT for the next one!
